A Brighter Thanksgiving in Tallahassee

Donation of perishable and non-perishable items

Thanksgiving can be pictured as a celebration with family around a table of delicious food. America is not out of the pandemic yet and so this thanksgiving may not be as pictured for most families still financially struggling. We wanted to give this experience to the families in Leon County and other areas of Tallahassee. We collaborated with Florida A&M University to make this a reality for our 3rd “Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway” on Tuesday 23rd November 2021 at Bragg Stadium, Talahassee, Florida.

Aimed at supporting families in the Tallahassee region with generous donations

Cars lined the area early to receive items such as face masks, hand sanitizers, turkeys, non-perishable food boxes, fruits and vegetables, information regarding COVID-19/Influenza vaccine, and other gifts from community partners. A sincere thank you to our esteemed sponsors: Second Harvest, Walmart, Cumulus Broadcasting, Hallelujah 95.3FM, Tallahassee's Highest Praise, Ahmed Temple #37, Team Excellence International, and the North Florida Chapter of N.O.B.L.E. for making this event possible.

Lane Harper, a founder of the Foundation said. “We’re just trying to make a positive impact within the community and the surrounding areas, to just give people back something that they might be missing at home, and we just want to bring them over to the next day.”

Our mission is to help the underserved population and assist them in overcoming hardships. We aim to do this at every event with volunteers and community partners. If you would like to join in the efforts you can contact us at info@poweroflifefoundation.org or Cashapp $polfoundation.
